First off, they are "riders," not "drivers." You don't "drive" a motorcycle.
Second, you mean every motorcycle racer? This is quite normal. Done it myself plenty.
Third, don't see how this is much different than being mid-corner, bumper-to-bumper (or even three-wide) in a car.

First off, red herring nitpick.
Second, 'Hey, a lot of people do that crazy thing, including me!' doesn't make it not crazy anymore.
Third, your body is exposed on a bike in ways it is not in a car, and as a dri-, oh sorry, 'rider', you know this.
